ET SSB Plus, (formally known as Primer Navigator™) is a mixture of thermostable RecA and thermostable SSB that is optimized for maximal enhancement of nucleic acid amplification, including HDA and PCR. SSB and RecA have been shown to improve the specificity and yield of RT-PCR, PCR and DNA sequencing (1-7). SSB proteins destabilize DNA secondary structure and increase the processivity of DNA polymerases (8) while RecA proteins bind to ssDNA and search for homology in dsDNA (9). SSBs have also been shown to enhance RecA function in ssDNA binding and strand transfer (10,11). ET SSB Plus has been developed to maximize their effect on difficult amplification reactions such as amplification of G+C rich region or multiplex PCR.
